SMS Messaging Terms and Consent

Last updated: August 25, 2026

SMS reminders are not live yet. Skipper is not currently sending ride reminder text messages. The program described on this page is being registered with wireless carriers and will only begin sending messages once that registration is complete. This page describes how the program is designed to work.

Who Sends These Messages

SMS messages will be sent by the transportation provider that scheduled your ride, through Skipper (operated by Skipper Software, LLC) on that provider's behalf. The phone number a message comes from will belong to your transportation provider, or to Skipper acting for them.

The program covers ride reminders, which is the only message category that is built. It also covers driver arrival notifications and schedule change notices, which are part of the intended program but are not yet built. No marketing or promotional messages will be sent.

What a Ride Reminder Contains

A ride reminder message will include your ride date, time, and pickup location. A reminder will read like this, with your own ride details filled in:

Hi [passenger name], this is a reminder for your ride on [date] at [time] from [pickup address]. Reply CONFIRM to confirm or CANCEL to cancel.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies and is tied to your scheduled rides. Your transportation provider chooses the reminder timing. A typical configuration is one reminder about 24 hours before a scheduled ride, though your provider's actual schedule may differ. No marketing or promotional messages will be sent.

Message and data rates may apply.

HELP and STOP

  • Reply HELP for help.

  • Reply STOP to stop messages.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How Consent Is Obtained

You give consent to your transportation provider when your ride is booked or when your passenger record is set up. Your provider's staff will record that consent against your passenger record.

Consent is stored as an explicit, per-passenger setting that defaults to off. A ride reminder will only be sent when all of the following are true: consent is on, text message is your chosen contact method, and a phone number is on file for you. If any one of those is missing, no message will be sent.

Consenting to receive text messages is not required in order to book or receive transportation. Declining does not affect your rides.

How to Revoke Consent

  • Reply STOP to any message to stop future messages.

  • Ask your transportation provider to turn off SMS for you.

  • Contact Skipper support at support@skippernemt.com.

Language Assistance

Messages will be sent in English only.

Your Privacy

Your phone number and consent choice are handled according to our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. We do not sell or share your phone number for marketing purposes.
